Look around and see lights of nighttime city.
People knocking on door, what a pity.
It’s open, they can come in, don’t care.
They talk calmly, breathe night air.
Want to have peace, to be left alone.
Walk on concrete slab, slightly cracked.
Take one step to left and feel night.
Think of woman loved, and last horrible fight.
Think of friends had, over east mountain comes sun.
It doesn’t matter what happens now, or what has been done.
Thoughts of family pass through brain, happy thoughts go by.
Thoughts of family continue on, begin to cry.
Sun goes behind mountain, reverse flow of time.
Heart slows down losing its rhythm, losing its rhyme.
Don’t want to see it now, don’t want to hear a sound.
Don’t think about the pain, here comes the ground.
